Effective: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Shiloh app LLC handles information in connection with the Shiloh platform. We take your privacy seriously: we collect as little as possible and retain even less.
This policy applies to all visitors and users of getshiloh.com, including students who upload syllabuses and institutions that engage with Shiloh on behalf of their organization.
When you create a Shiloh account, we collect your name and email address via Google or Microsoft OAuth. We do not receive or store your Google or Microsoft password.
When you use Shiloh, we store the classes you create, grading information extracted from your syllabus, deadline reminders and their associated dates, your professor's contact information if you choose to add it, and syllabus PDF files you upload for storage and viewing.
Our servers may log standard technical data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used solely for operating and improving the service.
We use your information to provide and operate the Shiloh platform, including displaying your classes and grades, and sending deadline reminder emails to the address associated with your account. Reminder emails are sent via SendGrid, a third-party email delivery service.
We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Your account information, classes, grades, and reminders are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway for as long as your account is active. You may delete a class and its associated data at any time from your dashboard. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below and we will remove your data promptly.
Server logs may be retained for up to 30 days for security purposes, such as detecting unauthorized access attempts or diagnosing technical issues.
Shiloh stores account information and user-generated academic data such as class names, grading structures, and reminders. While Shiloh is not itself an educational institution, we are committed to responsible data handling consistent with FERPA principles.
Institutions that wish to use Shiloh under a formal data processing agreement may contact us to discuss compliance requirements specific to their organization.
Shiloh uses the following third-party services to operate the platform: - Anthropic Claude API — AI-based syllabus parsing and deadline extraction - Railway — cloud hosting and database storage - SendGrid — reminder email delivery - Google and Microsoft OAuth — account authentication
We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or third-party analytics.
Shiloh is intended for college, university, and dual-credit students aged 15 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15. If you believe a person under 15 has created an account, contact us and we will delete their data promptly.
We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure database hosting via Railway. We limit access to your data to only what is necessary to operate the platform.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have concerns about the security of your data, contact us at the email below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of getshiloh.com after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
